Before celticare I've always had at least decent insurance. These people are worse than I could have imagined. Everything single thing is a fight and I have to spend time on the phone fixing problems a couple times a month. Of course they make my physician jump through hoops as well. Organizations like this are the best argument I could make for single payer option.

My personal experience with celtic care has been terrible, I want to share the details to help prevent other people from falling down the rabbit hole. The process of finding a therapist starts with a phone call to the main number and a conversation with a staff member. After they collect your information and what you're looking for, they provide you with three or four therapists in your area who you can contact. For me, these therapists were way off the radar for traditional adult behavioral health. One therapist had not been working in over 10 years, another worked with the geriatric population, another worked in drug rehabilitation, and the list goes on. Every time I would return to CC for more therapists, and I would keep getting the same results. Finally, I was connected with a case manager who was able to help me find a therapist. After a few months I felt like I needed to try a new therapist and I contacted my case manager again. She never returned my messages, CC claimed I did not qualify for a case manager, when I persisted I was told the case manager who initially helped me would contact me later that day, but the phone call never came.

If this insurance is your only option, please don't be afraid to advocate for yourself and what you need. If they cannot provide an appropriate list of doctors or therapists for you to contact, then they should pick up the responsibility of helping you find one.

The worst health insurance plan I'd ever had! I took it because I lost my job and it was the most affordable. I couldn't keep my old doctors, had to go to a different state to see a doctor, and they keep suspending my account, even though I paid 2 weeks before due date. I keep ordering my medication and to find it's not covered. If you have to pay $200 or double more at a competitor, just do it! The worst thing of all is that they act like it's my fault! Why do I have to keep calling them to activate my account? It's so ridiculous that such a company exist. It really seems like somebody thought it was a joke to screw with sick people.

Worst plan ever!!!! In three months of this plan, they have not played for or approved one of my meds that I have been on for 5 years. Now I have to go to the hospital because I can't breath without my meds!!! Do Not get this plan, they don't care anything about you!!!!
